Anthropic launches Claude Opus 4.5

Plus: Build fully functional apps with AI

In partnership with

Welcome to AI Toast!

Here’s what’s on the menu today:

  • Opus 4.5 is here 🎉

  • Google’s Gemini Pro plan is free for 18 months.

  • Ship a real app in Google AI Studio

  • Superhero Tools for writing

  • Quick AI Toasts: Uncle Sam’s new AI device

Total read time: About 8 minutes, perfect for a quick Claude code break.

Opus 4.5 ships production‑grade code, runs agents that finish, and uses your computer like a focused teammate. It’s priced to be used daily, not demoed once.

  • Why it matters: Less backtracking, fewer dead‑ends, cleaner execution. In practice, that means multi‑day tasks compress to hours, and plans feel tighter without hand‑holding.

  • Effort control = cost control: You can dial thinking from low to high. Medium effort matches Sonnet on key evals with far fewer tokens; high effort wins while still spending less. You pay for brainpower only when you need it.

  • Tool use grows up: Programmatic tool calling, tool search across big libraries, and better examples make multi‑step workflows reliable. This is the difference between “cool prototype” and “run it every day.”

  • Long‑run composure: Smarter context compaction and memory help it stay on task through long sessions. Thirty minutes of autonomous coding feels consistent instead of fragile.

  • Safety, realistically: Prompt‑injection resistance improves. It’s not invincible, but the floor is higher apps are less likely to collapse under clever nonsense.

  • You can build your own Chrome workflows like “Clean my inbox and triage into Notion” and Excel checklists like “What drives my Q3 revenue?” then “Increase growth by 2% and show NPV change.”

You can use it for production code, multi‑tool agents, spreadsheet/presentation automation, and desktop/browser control. If you mostly draft short content, Sonnet stays efficient; Opus is your lead‑engineer model.

Personal Take: $5 per million input tokens, $25 per million output. Available across apps and APIs, with longer runs and fewer intervention moments baked in. This is the leap we were all waiting for.

Each week there is a new model pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI.

If you’re on Jio’s Unlimited 5G, you now get Google’s Gemini Pro plan free for 18 months. When AI shows up inside your phone bill, it stops being a “tool” and becomes infrastructure.

  • What’s in the box:

    • Gemini 3 access in the app

    • 2 TB Google One storage

    • Higher limits for image/video generation (Nano Banana, Veo fast)

    • NotebookLM upgrades

    • Gemini across Gmail, Docs, Vids, and dev tools

  • Why this matters: Jio isn’t selling AI, it’s bundling it with the network. That’s a playbook used by telcos for decades (minutes, SMS, OTT), now applied to AI.

  • AI becomes invisible. You’ll use it because it’s there inside email, docs, and search, not because you “opened an AI app.” With Veo-style video from text-plus-image-to-video pipelines, storyboards to output take hours, not weeks.

Personal Take: This era is the moment AI stops being a subscription and starts being a socket. You don’t pay extra for electricity in your room; you just plug in and create. Jio’s move drags AI into that same everyday utility zone. If you’ve got access, don’t “try AI.” Build with it.

Don’t get SaaD. Get Rippling.
