Anthropic has introduced Claude for Teachers, a new program offering free premium Claude features to verified K–12 educators in the U.S., along with curriculum-aligned teaching tools and AI-powered classroom support.

What it can do

  • Build lesson plans aligned to state standards and grounded in vetted curricula.

  • Differentiate materials for students at different readiness levels, producing tailored versions and scaffolds automatically.

  • Analyze class data, rosters, diagnostics, attendance, to help teachers see where each student stands.

  • Automate recurring work, like reviewing daily exit tickets and adjusting the next day's plan, using Claude Code and Cowork

Personal Take: This is one of Anthropic's biggest pushes into education. Instead of positioning AI as a replacement for teachers, Claude for Teachers is designed to reduce administrative work so educators can spend more time focusing on students.

Meta has announced new safety features that notify parents if their teen discusses suicide or self-harm with Meta AI, while also expanding protections for young users across its AI chatbot.

  • Parents will be notified if Meta AI detects that a teen has discussed suicide or self-harm.

  • Every AI-flagged conversation will be manually reviewed before an alert is sent to reduce false alarms.

  • Meta is developing the ability to contact emergency services if conversations indicate someone is at imminent risk of suicide.

  • Meta's Limited Content setting now applies to Meta AI, blocking a wider range of sensitive conversations for teens.

  • Parents can already view the topics their teen discussed with Meta AI and receive alerts when they repeatedly search for self-harm content on Instagram.

  • Where it's live: Already active for parents in the US, UK, Australia and Canada rolling out globally by end of 2026.

Personal Take: As AI becomes more integrated into daily life, especially for younger users, safety features like these are becoming essential. While balancing privacy and protection will continue to be debated, adding human review and parental safeguards is a meaningful step toward making AI interactions safer for teens.
