Anthropic is rolling out a beta “voice mode” in its mobile apps so users can hold full spoken conversations instead of typing. The feature will start in English and expand over the next few weeks.
Key Insights:
Talk to Claude instead of typing: The new voice mode, powered by Claude Sonnet 4, lets you chat hands-free—perfect for planning your day, brainstorming ideas or revising notes while you’re on the move
Five voices: Choose the tone you like: Buttery, Airy, Mellow, Glassy or Rounded. Claude speaks in that voice and shows a live transcript on-screen so you can read or copy anything it says later.
Ask about files, photos and calendars: You can reference documents and images in your question. Paid subscribers can also pull details from Google Calendar or Gmail via the Workspace connector, while Google Docs access is reserved for Enterprise plans.
Who can try it: Voice mode is in open beta on the Claude mobile app. Everyone can test it, but free users get roughly 20–30 voice messages per session.
The launch matches similar voice offerings from OpenAI, Google Gemini Live and xAI’s Grok, tightening the race for more “human” AI chat.

Health, education and clean-energy focus – Sam Altman says the tie-up aims to push AI benefits into everyday services that matter most to citizens.
Benefit comes through integration –Expect ChatGPT features built into government apps, clinics, classrooms, etc., even if you don’t pay for Plus.
By coupling free access with massive infrastructure, Dubai positions itself as a real-world showcase for nationwide generative-AI rollout.
