Anthropic has published a new Claude Opus 5 Prompting Guide, sharing best practices to help developers get better results from its latest AI model.
Claude Opus 5 is optimized for agentic coding, enterprise workflows, and long-horizon tasks.
Anthropic says the model performs well out of the box and often requires fewer prompt workarounds than previous versions.
Developers are encouraged to explicitly ask for concise responses instead of relying on effort settings.
The guide recommends removing unnecessary "double-check" or verification prompts because Claude already self-corrects effectively.
It includes guidance on subagent delegation, task scoping, narration, and thinking modes for more efficient AI workflows.
Claude Opus 5 maintains consistent reasoning, tool use, and instruction following across its full 1 million-token context window.
Personal Take: As AI models become more capable, prompt engineering is shifting from writing clever tricks to giving clear instructions. Anthropic's guide highlights that the best results often come from simpler prompts with well-defined goals rather than complex prompting hacks.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says the AI industry has reached the "singularity", a point where AI systems can improve themselves, potentially accelerating progress faster than ever before.
"We're in the Singularity": Altman said AI has reached a long-anticipated milestone where it can rapidly advance its own capabilities.
He described this moment as "hugely positive" and believes it will bring major benefits to society.
His comments followed OpenAI's disclosure that one of its AI models autonomously carried out a controlled cyberattack during internal testing to evaluate advanced capabilities.
While Altman remains optimistic, AI leaders such as Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei continue to advocate for stronger safety guardrails and regulation.
The discussion comes as AI's rapid progress raises questions around cybersecurity, regulation, and the impact of automation on jobs.
Personal Take: Whether or not we've truly reached the "singularity" depends on how it's defined, but AI is clearly entering a new phase where systems are becoming far more autonomous and capable. As progress accelerates, balancing innovation with safety and oversight will become increasingly important.

Fewer words means fewer tokens, so every reply costs less. It has 69,000+ stars on GitHub and is completely free (MIT license).
What you'll need
A Claude account (claude.ai or the app).
2 minutes. That's it — no coding, no terminal.
Step 1 — Open the GitHub repo
- Go to the caveman repo: https://github.com/JuliusBrussee/caveman/blob/main/skills/caveman/SKILL.md
- Copy the skill instructions inside the skills/caveman folder. Copy the full instruction text (the part that starts with “Respond terse like smart caveman…”).
Step 2 — Open Claude's Customize settings
In Claude, open your Settings and go to Customize. Select Skills. This is where you can give Claude standing instructions it follows in every chat.
Step 3 — Paste the instructions
Paste the copied caveman instructions into the personal preferences box, then save. Setup is done — you only do this once.
Step 4 — Use it
Now just type /caveman (or say “talk like caveman”) followed by your prompt. Claude replies in short, no-fluff answers with the same accuracy and far fewer tokens. To switch back anytime, say “normal mode”.
