Google is using AI to help scientists quickly and affordably capture the genetic information of species before they disappear, making conservation easier.
So far, the genomes of 13 endangered species have been successfully sequenced.
Scientists believe nearly one million species could disappear if we don’t act in time.
Once a species is gone, its genetic information is lost forever.
Google is working with global projects like the Vertebrate Genomes Project and Earth BioGenome Project.
All the data is being shared openly so conservation researchers around the world can use it.
Google has now committed to expanding this work to 150 more species.
Why this matters: A genome is like a species' life guide. By studying it, scientists learn how animals live and adapt, which helps with conservation and protecting ecosystems we rely on.
Personal Take: Keeping digital records of DNA means we never truly lose the blueprints for life. Even if a species disappears from the wild, its genetic instructions stay safe in a database.
This technology acts as a permanent backup for Earth’s biodiversity. By saving these codes now, we give future scientists the exact data they need to restore entire ecosystems or bring back lost traits. It ensures that the biological history of our planet isn't erased, keeping the door open for nature to recover even after major losses.
Pretty cool if you ask me.

SpaceX has officially acquired xAI to build a vertically integrated innovation engine. This merger combines heavy-lift rockets with advanced artificial intelligence to solve terrestrial power constraints.
The deal values the combined entity at roughly 1.25 trillion dollars.
Integration allows xAI to utilize SpaceX’s Starship for deploying orbital data centers.
Moving compute to space leverages constant solar energy and natural cooling.
This strategy bypasses the physical limits and high costs of Earth-based electricity grids.
SpaceX recently filed for permission to launch one million satellites for this network.
Personal Take: Moving heavy AI tasks into space means we stop fighting over electricity here on Earth. Instead of building massive power plants, we use the sun’s energy and the cold of orbit to keep things running.
This will supercharge the platform by giving it nearly unlimited, low-cost processing power for real-time features. In daily life, this could mean AI assistants that never lag and smarter city infrastructure that doesn't strain your local power grid.

How to create a 10 Sec Video with Grok Imagine
Go to grok.com and log in with your X account credentials. If you don't have an account, create one first, it's required for access. As a Premium subscriber, you'll have better limits for generations.
Once logged in, navigate to the Imagine section. If you're on the main Grok page, look for the "Imagine" tab or button in the interface.
In the prompt box, enter your text description for the video. Make it detailed for better results: describe the scene, actions, camera style, motion, and audio.
Example: "A fluffy orange cat playfully chases a red laser pointer across a cozy living room floor. Smooth panning camera follows the action. Realistic style with warm lighting. Audio: cat meows, soft background music."Select "Video" from the dropdown menu (it might default to image).
Choose the duration — set it to 10 seconds (the maximum for basic clips).
Pick an aspect ratio if options appear, like 16:9 for standard video.
Click "Generate" or the equivalent button to create the video. It processes quickly, usually in seconds.
Once generated, preview the video on the page.
Download it by clicking the download button or icon next to the video player. Save it to your device.
Quick AI News Bites
Firefox is introducing built-in AI controls to give users more power over how models interact with their data. The update focuses on privacy by letting people toggle AI features on or off directly within the browser settings. It aims to make local, private AI processing the standard for daily web browsing.
OpenAI has launched the Codex app to turn natural language prompts into working software on mobile devices. The tool allows anyone to build and deploy simple applications without writing a single line of traditional code. It marks a significant shift toward making software development accessible to non-technical users everywhere.
AI assistants from OpenClaw have started creating their own social network to communicate and trade data without human intervention. This autonomous platform allows different AI agents to collaborate on complex tasks and share learned efficiencies in real time. Researchers are watching closely to see how these digital-only communities evolve and interact.
Anthropic is expanding its reach by deploying Claude on Mars to support future exploratory missions and autonomous research. The model is designed to handle the long communication delays between planets by making critical decisions on-site. This deployment serves as a major test for using advanced reasoning in extreme, off-world environments.
