Key Insights:
Orion AR Glasses: Meta introduced Orion, advanced AR glasses that look like regular eyewear but with extensive augmented reality features. These glasses feature the largest field of view among compact AR designs and include capabilities like multitasking on large virtual screens and interactive 3D holograms.
Meta AI: Meta is launching celebrity chatbots featuring voices like John Cena, and Kristen Bell on Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook in the US.
LLaMA 3.2: Meta's first major vision model capable of understanding both images and text, with 11B and 90B parameter versions.
Meta Quest 3S: Meta's Quest 3S VR headset launches at $299.99, featuring the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip and Touch Plus controllers like the Quest 3. The lower price is achieved by omitting the depth sensor, using lower resolution screens, offering a narrower field of view, and having a larger design.
Ray-Ban Meta: These smart glasses now feature multimodal AI for natural interactions, real-time translation, and memory assistance, enhancing accessibility for visually impaired users.

Crispy Bites: Mira Murati, CTO of OpenAI, announced her resignation to focus on personal projects after over six years at the company. Following Murati's announcement, Bob McGrew (Chief Research Officer) and Barret Zoph (VP of Research) also resigned.

OpenAI is reportedly transitioning from a non-profit to a for-profit benefit corporation. This change will grant CEO Sam Altman an equity stake and relegate the non-profit part to a minority position.
Sam Altman expressed both personal and professional gratitude towards Murati, acknowledging her significant contributions to OpenAI.
OpenAI has promoted several internal members to senior positions to fill the leadership vacuum.
