I started AI Toast when AI felt like total chaos. Every day brought new tools, models, updates, and huge promises. But most news was too technical, scattered, or just hype. I felt overwhelmed too.
I wanted one simple spot to track what really mattered in AI. No hours lost on Twitter or blogs.
So I began sharing short news, simple explanations, and tools that worked. First for me. Then for others.
People subscribed because it saved time and it explained AI in simple words. Today, 30k+ founders, creators, marketers, and builders read it daily.
Now here's our 2025 wrap — the 25 biggest moments that shaped AI for creators.
Perplexity made Comet browser free worldwide, letting millions ditch Chrome for an AI that searches, organizes tabs, drafts emails, and shops just by talking to it. What started as a $200/month tool became everyday free access. This kicked off the real browser wars.
OpenAI added apps right inside ChatGPT, so developers built video editors, design tools, and more that live in your chat without switching tabs. Creators now get full workflows in one window.
Google's Veo 3 in Gemini created videos with dialogue and sound effects from simple text prompts, making pro shorts or ads in seconds for free. Creators went from idea to finished video instantly.
Mozilla added Perplexity as a Firefox search option worldwide, giving users AI answers with sources instead of Google link lists. Mobile support followed fast. Search finally had a real alternative.
GitHub Copilot launched Agent Skills that automate coding tasks with reusable instructions across Claude, GPT, and Gemini models. Developers build 3x faster without writing every line. This made solo creators real builders.
Google Labs released MusicFX 2 and VideoFX that turned text into full songs or videos, completely free for creators to play with. These tools hit millions of users fast. Labs became where Google tests consumer hits before main launch.
Google AI Studio helped creators build production-ready apps from custom Gemini models with one-click deployment. No coding needed for live tools helping creators launch real products overnight.
OpenAI launched Sora 2.0 with Cameos so creators insert themselves into AI videos with real physics and synced audio. iOS app rolled out to everyone.

Google's Imagen 4 in Gemini made pro images with perfect text super fast, from text or edits. Designers got visuals in seconds and this matched Midjourney quality for free.
Gemini Live went free with camera and screen sharing, so point your phone at anything for instant AI help connected to Maps and Calendar. Creators troubleshoot designs live. It felt like a real assistant.blog
OpenAI's Atlas browser challenged Chrome, automating research and tasks better than traditional browsers. It summarizes pages and acts on your goals. Google finally faced real competition after taking the heat from Perplexity too.
Gemini Canvas turned ideas into quizzes, infographics, and code from simple descriptions in 45 languages. Creators prototype entire projects instantly. This is starting to replace Figma for many.
Jasper updated for long-form marketing copy with 50+ templates that match brand voice perfectly. Teams saved hours daily and it became the creator's writing backbone.
Meta's Llama 4 powered free text+image AI across all apps with 1M token context for huge projects. No paywalls hit creators hard. Open source won big, but I was surprised to see Meta do this.
OpenAI's GPT-5.1 Thinking mode solved complex creative briefs step-by-step like a senior strategist. Designers and writers got pro reasoning cheap. This felt like hiring an expert.
Anthropic's Claude Haiku 4.5 matched big models at tiny cost, free for fast coding and writing help. Speed became the new priority for a lot of ’em.
Tesla Optimus showed human-level dexterity for factory work with perfect balance and AI vision. Home robots got closer. Creators dreamed of AI assistants that move.
Google Deep Research analyzed your PDFs with web data for instant analysis. Connects to Drive and Gmail soon. Research-heavy creators got supercharged.
Midjourney V6 gave artists 4x control per prompt with perfect lighting and speed. Designers stayed loyal. Artistic AI hit peak quality.
xAI's Grok 4 added live web search to chats for real-time creator research. SuperGrok tier built agents cheap. Elon delivered on promises.
Gemini 3 Flash became a fast everyday default with PhD-level smarts in a tiny package. Images, audio, text all worked instantly. Speed won the year.
Meta launched 11 AI ad tools turning images to videos automatically. SMB creators scaled campaigns overnight. Ads became creative playgrounds.
Browser wars exploded with Comet vs Atlas, automating everything Chrome can't. Creators research and shop by voice and it’s changing web browsing forever. I am excited to see how people will look at Chrome after Claude launched its chrome extension.
2025 made AI a daily tool for creators. I really hope you are using AI as much as I do every single day to make my work more productive.
